ITSSAR Experienced Forklift Counterbalance Course – 3 days

The experienced forklift counterbalance training course is designed for candidates who in the past have operated forklift trucks but have received no formal training. This is aimed at operators who want to formalise their experience, or who wish to gain a qualification transferable to other sites and recognised by employers.

The counterbalance forklift training course teaches the candidates to safely operate the forklift to industry standards.

ITSSAR accredited counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) training. This experienced course is aimed at trainees with prior experience in operating a counterbalance FLT. The course will run on 3 consecutive days from the start date.

Course Agenda

  • Hazard awareness
  • The operators’ safety code
  • Lift truck stability
  • Handling loads
  • Safety video
  • Test your knowledge.
  • Pre-Shift inspection
  • Moving/stopping and steering the truck
  • Operation of hydraulic controls
  • Manoeuvring in open and confined area’s
  • Stacking and destacking at different levels
  • How to handle slopes and ramps.

Upon successful completion candidates will be added to the TOPPS national register scheme and a training certificate issued.

Please note that the course duration is stipulated by ITSSAR and assumes a teaching ratio of 3:1. Course length could be shortened if the course is not booked at full capacity.
